Summit Spotlight is a yearly campaign that highlights individual schools who are part of the Summit Learning program and are finding new ways to excel. This year, the theme was “Parents as Partners,” and we developed a series of three different mini-documentaries to show how two schools and one teacher are going above and beyond to keep parents as active as possible in their classrooms.
I led the team throughout the project, working directly with an outside video production team, as well as my internal creative team. My role was to do everything from choosing the winners, to overseeing scripting and pre-pro, to creative directing the final result, to overseeing promotion. It was a great project and shone a light on three amazing programs across the country.
In the end, we produced a truly amazing piece of work that had legs well beyond the Spotlight project itself. Not only did the different spots bring a series of positive press mentions and highlights (at a time when they were greatly needed), it also gave us fodder to utilize the assets in an array of other media including social, web content, and in-person video.
